Cesca Trench Plauque Unveiling and Film Presentation
A plaque is to be unveiled at the Liverpool birthplace of one of the most acclaimed Irish
artists of the 20th century.
Cesca Trench (1891-1916) was born at St Johns Church of England vicarage, Green Lane,
Tuebrook, where her Dublin-born father was vicar. Her grand nephew, Anthony
Fletcher (a writer and historian) is traveling from Oxford to unveil the plaque at 2pm on
Saturday 24 May. The unveiling will be followed by a screening of the RTE documentary
film about the artist 'Cesca's Diary' at the St Micheal's Irish Centre.
Cesca's work can be seen in the National Gallery of Ireland and the National
Museum of Ireland. The Liverpool branch of the Gaelic League is organising these events.

On stage together for the very first (and probably very last) time ever!
In celebration of Liverpool as European Capital of Culture 2008 and as one of the highlights
of The Liverpool Comedy Festival three of Irelands comedy royalty are to pay tribute to this
remarkable city in a very special one-off gig in Liverpool's Echo Arena in recognition of the
strong links held between this vibrant and culturally rich city and the people of Ireland.
Not so much The Three Tenors, more The Three Fellas, Tiernan, O'Hanlon and Moran promise to
bring Liverpool to its feet when they appear on stage together for the very first and probably
very last time ever!
